If you feel that you have been discriminated against you can call in and discuss the matter person to person in confidence with a member of the equality team. The Equal Status Act, 2000 outlawed discrimination in employment, vocational training, advertising, collective agreements, the provision of goods and services and other opportunities to which the public generally have access on nine distinct grounds.
These grounds are gender, marital status, family status, age, disability, race, sexual orientation, religious belief and members of the traveller community. These are outlined in the Equality Authority’s website.
If you have been discriminated against we may be able to advocate on your behalf.
